Sometimes no words are needed, but it's better to leave with a positive attitude specially when the relationship was overall good.

I don't like violence of any kind: yelling, passive agressive attitude, not my thing.

I prefer to sit down and talk things over, nobody needs to make someone miserable, but no needs for "enemies" either.

I am shocked at the number of people who think it is OK to drop someone without a face to face discussion!

Sometimes the breakup is over something stupidly trivial as if the person was looking and looking for something to use as an excuse to make the mistake i.e. the relationship termination or “break up”. ‘Seek and ye shall find’ applies strongly and the perplexing factor is that the objective, rather than working at the relationship and overcoming situations that appear on the surface insurmountable or so-called “beyond control”, can otherwise be worked at together and managed as a team otherwise its just another lame excuse as the goal was relationship discontinuation in the first place. If a relationship situation is indeed genuinely desired effort will be applied so as to make it so and breaking up is not part of the solution but rather an indication of failure, carelessness, laziness combined with an unrealistic expectation that smooth sailing must always prevail. Problems, bumpy roads, surprises, unexpected and unanticipated events, catastrophes, wars of unimaginable scale, asteroids, arguments, disagreements, differences of opinion, etc. are part of life and the universe you all live in. Deal with it. Treat the relationship as zero fail and it will succeed.
