I think this would be a different answer for each person.
Ideally, my relationship would be close friends. Two people who share and do almost everything together. Honesty is a major must have. Obviously, what I enjoy would be different from what you enjoy, so my idea of a perfect relationship would probably vary based on our personal taste and habits.
I have been known to paint from time to time when I have nothing better to do with my time. Two kids and being single kind of keeps me busy most days, but Sunday morning I can usually sit on my back porch and paint a little when I don't have the kiddos. Painting with them just turns into a mess, which is fun, but more of a job then it is relaxation.
The ideal relationship is one that is fulfilling, makes you happy, and is mutually beneficial to all parties involved in the direct relationship.
