Just as bald men should only date bald women... poor men should only date poor women... if you only have a 8th grade education you can't data anyone who graduated HS... if you like peanut butter, you can't date those who like chocolate... And if you sit around thinking up silly threads, you more than likely can't date anyone.

Why would a person who takes care of their appearance want to date someone who doesn't?
People can try to do whatever will make them happy. Granted it's not exactly easy to pull off, and usually when you see it the obese person gained the weight after the relationship started and their partner still loves them but wishes they would lose the weight, or if the difference was pre-existing there was a large socioeconomic difference working in the opposite direction. Pretty rare to see a relationship begin with two people of similar social and economic status where one is obese and the other is healthy, although it does happen.

Plenty of non-obese people don't take care of their appearances, either. Obesity isn't the whole picture.
