Well some of the girl in the window "Laufhaus" 30-50 Euro places are, though not all. The nicer brothels are quite clean and nicley furnished and normally fairly classy. Go in a woman takes you to a small waiting room and brings you something to drink, the girls come in introduce themselves, they leave, the woman comes back and you tell her your choice and off you go. You are asked to take a shower before you get to it.
Yes, I am familiar with the set up - exact same arrangement in the casa de cita's in my home country and the rest of Latin America. Not a fan. Prefer being able to chat with/screen the girls before taking them. Those places are the "Fast Food" option- although you can still chat with them... the "windows to the street" places are on small pedestrian streets usually screened off from the other streets where you have to go through a small gate to enter.
Normal brothels, like restaurants come in all price classes. But you always meet and talk to the girls before. Some have a meue with prices others not.

When I lived in NYC it used to happen from time to time. I just said, "No thanks," and kept moving on.

A few time a rejected woman would mutter, but not usually...face it, they got work to do, and they're not wasting time on guys who clearly are not buying. I have seen a couple of nasty scenes, but in each case I heard the guy say something really nasty to the woman and she was not having any BS, thank you.

Yeah I don't like the North American/European set up for P4P. Very impersonal, I mean itemization of sex, charging by the minute, charging different rates for different acts? The lack of GFE is astounding. It's just gross and icky.

I have been approached by a prostitute in Beijing, China; Krabi, Thailand; and Tijuana, Mexico. But the one in Mexico was actually one that a client sent me as a joke. I rejected their advances.
The one in China didn’t even look like the stereotypical one wearing mini skirts, showing cleavage, high heels, smoking, in a street corner, etc. It was actually in a nice area of Beijing. She approached me and started a conversation. The conversation started to get a bit sexual. In broken English she told me things like “Bet many girls are after you around here…Love your smile…You are a handsome man. I bet you have a big one…I am getting horny just thinking of how it would be to be with you…” until she told me how much it would be to take her to my place. All this while I had a half smile almost poker face. Here comes the funny part, I told her “Oh so you are all horny for me, yet, you are charging me? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?” she laughed about it as I started to walk away she told me it was ok, no money involved. I just waved her goodbye.
For the one in Thailand we ended up going out for like 3 days while I was visiting the islands for vacation. No sex was involved even though she wanted it. That was an interesting experience. Long story.
The one in Mexico was probably a prank or joke a client wanted to play on me. She approached me and did what a prostitute is supposed to do I guess. Talk to me, get all seductive, and offer her services. I rejected her politely and let her walk away. My client was a few steps away from me giving me the thumb-up. Nope. Nothing happened.
I can understand why men would go to a prostitute (sexless marriages, girlfriends are expensive, a thrill, a prostitute might offer more in bed, and many other reasons that can be heard from them) but paying for sex or company isn’t my cup of tea. Don’t know why this is illegal if this can somehow be seen in other settings between men and women.

This has long been my stance... I don't care for the pro's myself either, but I don't get why it's illegal.
