Do you think sexual tension is something that only exist in the mind of (1) of the people involved?
And can sexual tension be felt by outside parties?

Outside parties as in you're around (2) people and even without any words being spoken to you about an attraction, you can sense the sexual chemistry or tension between them? And I don't mean little silly teenagers giving each other googly eyes and sheepish smiles. I'm talking about grown adults who have learned how to compose themselves in the midst of attractive company.

I think both people create the tension together (albeit unspoken). It builds via eye contact with each other, etc. Yes, I think I can see it when it's in front of me in others.

Most of the time, nobody is paying that much attention, anyway.

"And can sexual tension be felt by outside parties? "
Sure.
Many times DH and I have looked at a couple behaving in a perfectly acceptable manner and said "Get a room already" under our breaths.

If you don't mind me asking but how? I mean if they're behaving in a perfectly acceptable manner how do you know they're.... well you know "in the mood"?

Yes. Non-verbal communication combined with "it's written all over your face."

You know how some people have a certain something about them you can't quite put your finger on?

And, when there's hanky panky involved, you kinda feel it? Whether or not these public displays of affection show up through micro-expressions in which they try to hide?

They say non-verbal communication constitute for 80 or 90% of communication for a reason.. Even pets communicate non-verbally. Whether or not they have sexual tension, unlike humans, they just... like bonobos:

Do. It. No questions asked. Social Mores can only go so far.
