I was asking because I'm a bit afraid of the reaction in a private setting and I know that I personally would rather process in private rather than public setting if I was hurt. That's why I was considering a well-written letter. Then again it was only a few weeks so it shouldn't be overwhelming.
The women seem to say do it in person - I'll have her meet for coffee or lunch. Thank you all for the opinions.
Haha. Just received a text from her saying that she didn't see this going anywhere. Talk about being on the same page. Maybe we were meant for each other?
So good, in this particular case, a Facebook message would have been more than good enough. Sometimes life just takes care of your problems.
Maybe because I lack sentimentality but I really see nothing wrong with the FB message. In person or FB, it'll hurt either way but ultimately, they will have nothing to do with each other in the future so why does it really matter?
Hehe, gotta love it when a problem solves itself. Had this happen to me once where I was struggling to think of how to break up with someone without hurting his feelings and he ended up leaving me first. Phew! From a feeling bad/stressed point of view, it's better to be the one broken up with than the the one who breaks things off.

Ladies, what do you think?
I'd say so... breaking up by text is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to tact.
