The majority of MALES will have sex with just about any woman that is able to say yes.
There is only a small percentage of MEN that have the discipline and/or enough options to say no to the advances of a woman
due to not being attracted to her.
Women IMO are much more selective when it comes to attraction.
Yes and I believe that this is the cause for the major gender imbalances that are so prevalent in society. Women choose their sexual partners (almost completely based on looks) and men take what they can get without having standards, for the most part.
This is also why it's so easy for women to cheat. I would say that the vast majority of women have cheated on their boyfriends/husbands simply due to new opportunities constantly presenting themselves with very good-looking men. Women are also better at lying than men are so they are less likely to get caught. Topic for another discussion though, I suppose.

Women can't go by looks. Going by looks is what gets some women raped. Women have to be concerned with personality, character, safety, for their own survival. Some women go only by looks, but they're in the minority.
It's much easier for men to lie about cheating. Having to stay late after work, or having to work weekends, or making a business trip with a female colleague, or going for drinks with a female colleague after work, etc. And look at all the threads we've had here where women post, "Could he be cheating?", when the signs have been there for months or years. How many women tell their SO's that they have to stay at work late, or work weekends? It's rare, comparatively.

Have to disagree. Most men are not picky. As a matter of fact...Most men settle for less than what they what due to past rejection, insecurities and sheer frustration with dating.
And most men never get approached by a woman.

Men rarely reject women when it comes purely to sex. Women also rarely approach men. It does happen and it has happened to me, but it's certainly not common. More often, women will find a man attractive, then do nothing about it until he approaches her (presumably due to laziness, entitlement, and a fear of rejection on the woman's part).
Also, women cheat FAR more than men....and it's not even close. Anecdotally, I've noticed this in real life. I've also certainly noticed more threads started by men that were wondering if their girlfriend/wife is cheating. Also, I've seen various studies that show that women cheat more and are better at hiding it.
I've always thought it was the opposite; that women have broader tastes in men, while men tend to go for one physical type, and also prefer more or less the same facial type; either a naturally sexy look, or a cute look, and there are a few men who might prefer plain or quirky looks. There's rarely any crossover between the guys who like a naturally hot/sexy-looking face and those who prefer "cute"/sweet.
What the OP is saying though is that each of these guys has something a bit different he's looking for, therefore most guys have different tastes in women from each other (which you're basically backing up by saying some go for 'cute', some go for 'sexy' and others have other tastes). On the other hand, he thinks women tend to have the same characteristics they find attractive in men, which I agree with on the whole. There certainly are exceptions, but from observation and my overall OLD experience, there is not necessarily a woman for every guy, and much of that is lack of variance in taste from woman to woman.
Men are SHALLOWER and whether they have a type they prefer or find lots of women beautiful, the point is that they'll "go" for practically anyone even if they don't particularly like her other than physically (and maybe not EVEN physically more than average!). Women aren't so much about the physical - so maybe their physical range is broader but just because a man is handsome to them doesn't mean much more than that in terms of whether they'll pursue or not.
Yet most women have minimum physical attributes, then they have difficult non-physical attributes for a guy to reach ideally, so they are much pickier on the whole. The reason it is a notion that guys are more focused on the physical is they aren't so dependent on the other attributes of a woman, so of the two aspects (physical and non-physical) the physical wins out, whereas with women they are picky on both (again there are exceptions but more often than not I have found this).

Oh, really? You're saying that guys on the whole, as a group, not as individuals, have broader tastes than women? That's a new spin on the topic. Would be nice if the OP could clarify that.
But I'd say that women's tastes as a group, can't be pigeonholed, either. I'm talking about in real life, not when looking at magazine photos. When faced with real, live men, women go for widely differing types. Some like thin, tall, lanky. Others like big and beefy. Others like small and beefy. Still others like average, in-shape. Some like the pudgy teddy-bear type. Some get goofy over scrawny nerds. Some like shy guys. Others prefer confident guys. Some like the metrosexual types. Others like the lumberjack types. Some like the androgynous, gentle, soft-spoken guys. Others like the outspoken tough guys. Still others like the quiet leaders who command respect. Some like the corporate success stories.
No rhyme or reason. Not sure why anyone would expect there to be.

Notice that it was created by a male who is in a situation where is wife is obviously cheating. He can't admit it and HE is currently in therapy for some perceived flaw that she has assigned him.
