Wow, glad you resisted.
The holidays brings about regrets and what-if's but one must never forget why you and the ex no longer talk or date. If there are unresolved issues that need to be put to bed then there is nothing wrong with putting them to bed in order to forgive and let go of anger.
I went to my ex wife's for Christmas with her sister and our daughter and had a wonderful time even stayed over so I could have a few and not have to drive. We live in different towns and get together about twice a year. in our 60's and both still single.
we get along great
My ex and I are still very close, and he has even re-married. We were together almost 20 years. He actually texted me on Christmas. I'm glad we're still friends, and I'm even good friends with his new wife.
I'm so hurt by the situation, that if I put myself out there and she didn't reciprocate, I would be utterly crushed, so I didn't.
This was a short relationship, +/- 2 months, but it had a lot of potential, or so I thought.
This resonates. We both thought we had alot of potential after three months. If it had been years, then yeah, the writing was on the wall. But to get so close and then call it off so fast doesn't make sense. In my situation, she said she wanted to be friends but hasn't messaged or called me in close to two months. So that's like a facebook friend from college, not a real friend.
I had two ex's who emailed me. Both wished me happy holidays, which I am ok with if only they ended the message with generic holiday wishes. But then one got nostalgic (two paragraphs worth and we broke up over two years ago) and the other sent a mysterious sentence "I hope that I can see you soon". He saw me the other day and walked the other way.
Like wtf? Why do they do this?
My girlfriend says that people get weird when they are lonely.
