Maybe they are too lazy to fill out their profile and are giving people those links to find out more about them. Personally I wouldn't want everyone to know so much about me that I haven't met yet.
In their profile they are either saying......."follow me on Instagram" or here is my facebook address???
Why would they want to give out that information to all the strange horny men so they can be harrass? I just can't understand why some women are doing this. Has anyone seen this?
Insecure, desperate women. There's just as many of those out there as there are insecure desperate men.
My first guess would be selling something... or some way to data-mine a specific segment of the population (in this case, single men) to target them for marketing through social media.
It could also just be future crime victims who don't understand how much of their privacy they give away.
I have no doubt some idiots do this though. I've seen where men do something similar (on paid sites) their telephone numbers and e-mail addresses and such in their profiles. I always wonder if that works for them. Personally, I wouldn't contact one of them. Ever site I ever used clearly explains step #1 to fraud and danger is a person trying to communicate with you off the site right away.
One question though, does anyone really get an "ego boost" from having followers? I see people mention this all the time and I don't get it. If so, what kinds of people get an ego boost from having complete strangers know about their lives. I guess I don't get it. I'm only followed by people I know outside of the internet (meaning all my Facebook friends for example are family, real-life friends, and a handful of old co-workers I've chosen to keep in touch with.) I don't even add the men I am dating to Facebook (although I would if one of them ever became committed/a boyfriend).
