Opinions wanted.
My husband threw a biggie on me last night. He no longer wants to celebrate Christmas or Easter due to his new religious beliefs.
No tree no decoration in house.
We've been together more then 13 years and have always had similar beliefs. We have a 9 year old and have always celebrated these holidays.
What would you do?

Celebrate without him. He doesn't have to participate if he doesn't want to.

What made him choose a radically different religion?

Did he decide to become a Jehovah's Witness? If so that's going to get really difficult down the road. But yes. Just celebrate without him. You will probably have to go to your family or in-laws though because you won't be able to do much at home if he has things his way.

celebrate Christmas and Easter alone. Teach the 9 year old Christianity, but not force my faith or ideal on the kid. The kid has freedom to choose.

People with faith (at least to me) should act like healers, not crusaders or haters.

Father in law learning. Trickling down. Father inlaw converted after his wife died. More intense bible studies.

I'm not getting a choice really. I was told he no longer wants a tree. He's reading the bible and these correspondence books. I really am at a loss.
