Yes, my husband and I kiss and hold hands in public.
I have no problem with quick PDA here and there. In public, it should only involve the typically non-sexual body parts (arms, legs, waist, shoulders, etc). I don't want to see anybody groping anyone's butt.
The only time I think it's gross is when it is extended, to the point where you're almost making out.
I don't mind PDA, as long as it's not excessive. If I start seeing body parts, maybe it's time to slow down
Funny story, I had a totally different perspective in high school. I used to get really annoyed with this couple who's lockers were right next to mine. Every time I headed to my locker, between classes, I would find her pressed up against my locker while the boyfriend assaulted her mouth. I would have to stand there, watch and wait until they were done. This went on for months, until I got fed up and half-shoved her away from my locker. She didn't say a peep and kept the kissing to her locker.
At the same time, I had a boyfriend and I was just so bugged out by that couple that I would never let him kiss me in the halls lol. I just didn't want to turn into one of "those" couples, ya'know? But I was being immature.
I held my exes hand, hugged and kissed him all the time. I've never had an issue with doing it in public. I think it's really cute, so long as it remains PG13.

I have never had any problem holding hands in public. For years I thought it was so sweet to see "older couples" holding hands in public. It made me feel that they were still attracted to one another and were not afraid to let the world know. Now, I am one of those "older" folks myself. LOL.
Beyond that, besides maybe a quick kiss on the cheek or closed mouth kiss, I have reserved that for behind closed doors. There are not too many people who would care to see a 50's woman and man having at it in public; and I have no desire to see people making out when I out and about.
I will say that my ex-husband was so shy about even holding hands in public and at first I was rather hurt. I eventually learned to respect his comfort level and didn't push it.
My last bf had a problem with his eyes in that he would always stare at younger and attractive women, so interestingly enough, after years of wanting to hold hands with the "man of my dreams" in public, I stopped holding hands with him at all because this behavior continued regardless of the fact that I discussed this with him many times, and he continued to do it. I found it very humiliating and embarrassing to hold hands with him while he was doing all the gawking and ogling at women. I know when I was stared at non-stop by men and they were holding hands or they had their arm around someone, I felt sorry for the women they were with.
