I’m starting to notice a number of these profiles out there that state not single/not looking. I found one last night where they talk about how they love to eat out and go out for drinks.
Something tells me that if the going out means paying your own way these people wouldn’t give the time of day. Is it something more sinsister like seeking validation for breathing air on this planet?

They are either spam or taken or looking for sex or playing games.
It's possible that they just changed their profile. I don't think POF lets you delete your profile, so maybe they found someone and just want people to know so they don't receive messages?
Or maybe they are looking to fool around but want the respondent to know that they aren't looking for a relationship.

Think about it: they're on a dating site. Obviously, there are looking to date or they wouldn't be there.
Still though, it's a red flag to me because they're obviously playing games and not being honest. It also suggests possible craziness.

Yes, attention seeking is sky high when it comes to women nowadays and even more apparent for women who participate in online dating. It's only in this generation however, women in their 35+ aren't known for attention seeking behavior but they have had time to develop as a person from either hitting the wall or grew up in a time where Morales were properly implemented.
Newsflash kids... it means "I'm in a relationship and I'm not leaving said relationship but I really want to bang someone who's not my significant other."
They are in denial. Like the guys who can't get laid so they say they aren't interested in sex anyways. Lol ok buddy.
