What makes you feel manly (if you are a man?) Or a womanly (if you are a woman?)....For instance, we bbq'd this past weekend and as I was standing there flipping burgers, swapping stories with the guyss, cold beer in my hand, and the sun on my face, I just felt....manly. I don't know any other feeling to describe it. I also get this feeling lifting heavy during a workout and also standing around a car bs'ing with friends as someone is working on it. I thought of these things and it made me wonder if women have a similar feeling when doing certain things?
A man's protective behavior, or sincere attempts to please me (if they have a bit of a corny or clumsy component to them, all the more endearing to me, oddly enough)
Also, caring for others. Especially in the realm of problem-solving, helping a person find solutions for a dilemma.
and in bushes
and on trees
and in snow
and in rivers and lakes and ponds
basically wherever the law allows me to.
On a side note, I've noticed that most of the answers from women on this has to do with men and their interactions with them while most of the guys here have answered simple generic things like bbq'ing, watching sports and pounding away a few beers.

Interesting.
Okay, you asked for it.
Getting my laundry whites their whitest.
Getting my floors swept and mopped till they sparkle
Making my home smell fresh & clean, like a garden
Executing the perfect pie pastry crust
Executing the perfectly done pot roast
Looking gorgeous and super sexy for my man.
Getting my hair done at the salon
Spending an afternoon at the spa, "Queen For A Day" package.
Men who give me their coat if I am cold and I don't have mine.
Men who open doors for me.

The better I look (in my opinion), the more womanly I feel. Yes, that's very shallow. My personality traits and values aren't what does it. Anyone can be those things regardless of gender.
I don't think I think in terms of this. Don't get me wrong, I'm not androgynous. But I'm a woman. Just like my eyes are brown. My eyes ain't gonna get any browner. And I'm not gonna get any more womanly. It's just something I know about myself and it's not going to be affected by external factors.
I like to feel cherished, like when I'm with my friends and we're all having a good time and I know they'd feel like something was missing if I wasn't there. Or like when I'm in a good relationship and being snuggled.
I like to feel competent. Like when I cook something awesome or put together some furniture or fix something around the house.
I like to feel kinda badass. Like when I have a moment of excellence that makes people's jaws drop. The last time I read a short story in my creative writing group there was this moment of silence right before everyone just kinda said "whoa." I dropped the mike. It was AWESOME.
I like to feel sexual. Like when I leave a guy staring at me like I went and invented orgasms just for him.
Heck, I like to feel attractive. But even when I'm thinking "I look good naked" I'm not thinking "Wow, I'm womanly." (Though sometimes I do think "my **** aren't half bad for my age.")
But in these moments I don't have Shania Twain's "I Feel Like A Woman" playing on the iPod in my brain. I just feel more me than anything else, more right than perhaps I felt before that moment. Is that what people are talking about?
Cant say I have ever sat back and thought something was making me feel "like a man". I do not even identify with the phrase "feel like a man" or understand what it might be or feel like. I simply feel like a person. My sex is barely relevant to it - except of course when it comes to actually having sex
