I read somewhere that a Purple Martin house is good for mosquitos as well and I believe the Amish use them.
I do know you can find plans online to build one, I have it saved somewhere but the plans were free.
There are all kinds of plants you can grow that will fight them off too, but I've always been too lazy to do it here because I have always known this is a temporary living situation. When I buy another house of my own down the road my yard will be crawling in that stuff.

Bio, I have 2 packets of Rosemary seeds that I have not put out yet, from what I understand Rosemary in the lawn repels fleas. I think it helps if you plant them at the right time though, oh well, maybe next year.
I do believe that even my very Religious Mother would appreciate the Statue of St Francis of Assisi and the irony of it all.
