Our condo is 30 yrs old, a third of that size and our floor plan is selling for about 40 or 50 grand more.

I've been looking at places in New Mexico and am just flabbergasted at what 175k can buy there... LOL...
What's really crazy though, being in Software development I pay attention to these things, but when you factor in cost of living I make a lot more money than someone doing the same job in Silicon Valley. I make more money than I did when I lived in Chicago. I make less than coders make in Iowa and Kansas.

I get that... When I worked for a fortune 150 company they'd send us back to Milwaukee for training and of course you'd interact with people from all over country and while you shouldn't talk about money, it seemed like it came up and all of us guys on the west coast or the east coast guys would say how much they made, we'd really upset the mid west guys, but once we started talking about the details of housing and how much money and financial assest etc etc we had, it turned out that the guys in the mid west that made 15 to 20 percent less than us were actually doing better overall.... LOL... that was a rough pill to swallow... LOL...
So yeah.... some dude making 65k in poodunkville is doing better than the dude making 105k out here......
