Found out next week, I have the privilege to do a presentation to a class. I have been instructing various classes for about six years. Out of town for two days, a day off in the middle of the week and so on.
Well the dream has come to an end! Today I'm raking leaves all day. Back to reality
My yard and my neighbor's yard. The girl next door her father is passing away so they haven't had time to work in their yard at all so I am trying to help them out. I've already filled 8 bags

Take any pics?
Oh yeah I took pics. You know me. Not too pleased with how they turned out though. They really do not do the place justice. My phone is 1.5 years old which is ancient in phone tech. I haven't owned a real camera ... ever. I think. I'll upload some pics to an album this weekend.

Thanks, Ms. I knew people there that vouched for me so I got hired real fast. It will be interesting to see how it is working there. I have never worked for a mega company like Boeing before. 15,000 employees in St. Louis alone. They have brought over 1,000 new jobs to St. Louis in the last year though.
Strange thing is my mom is interviewing to work there as well. We might carpool
Have a good weekend everybody.

If I get on my roof I can see a Boeing facility, It used to occupy probably 50 acres of land, but over the last 20 yrs, it's been shrinking and selling off land, used to actually be a 10 floor bldg there, but they torn that down about 10 yrs ago. Sort of sad, now it's down to just about 3 or 4 bldgs, they've sold off so much land, they're supposed to be building a huge entertainment/condo/business complex, that seems to be new trend these days, trying to merge several uses into a given space, makes some sense when you think about that lack of available prime real estate here in So Cal.
Back in the day, that plant there used to employee about half the damn city here, but that was back in the 70's, early 80's.

It's amazing how those big giant facilities can be here today and gone tomorrow. The same thing happened here with Mcdonnell Douglas which was based in St. Louis. It was a giant company that built some of our most famous aircraft. Tons of commercial planes, but hell they built the A-4, F-15, F-4, F/A-18, the harrier, the apache, lots of spacecraft for NASA, the tomahawk and harpoon missiles, many computer systems / products, (and too many other things to name) ... and still couldn't stay in business. They ended up merging with Boeing, which is why we still have these Boeing jobs here.
We still have roads named after this company that no longer exists. Of course we also lost Howard Hughes' TWA airlines which no longer exists either. Then we lost a big giant Ford plant. Lots of other manufacturing jobs. We've done our share of bleeding people due to job loss that is for sure.
I kind of like those places though. There is a brand new one here right on the river, and it has really nice modern apartments, a giant movie theater, probably 5 or 6 restaurants / bars, a gym, massage place, dentist and doctors office all in one spot. The place isn't cheap though, and I hear parking is not going well. I've been there, and it kind of feels like living at the mall. They are really nice apartments though.
The leaves keep falling, and I keep raking. They have to run out eventually (January)
