Its a long read so please have a long attention span. I enjoyed reading it. Ladies, before you get bent out of shape over it, read the first paragraph(when he talks about enlightenment).

I agree on the double standards mentioned on the article. Marriage is bad deal for men in my opinion.

You're going to have to do better than creating a thread with no content if you want to have a discussion with others.

The thread was created to hear others people's opinions on the article.

Agreed. After reading this, I thought to myself, "what benefit do men actually get out of being married?" This article also explains why my friend has been with his GF for 8 years and they still haven't tied the knot. I don't think they ever will.

I have a couple friends that have kids with their girlfriends of 10 years+. From what I can see they are just as happy if not happier then my friends who are married.

I told my gf recently I will never marry her but I will love her as if we're married

The idiot author lost me in the first paragraph by Stating very plainly that EVERYONE assumes single men are womanizers, or selfish and lazy, and that NO ONE ever explores other options. He uses similar terminology later in the essay re: double standards in perceptions of infidelity.

D'oh! Of course there are lots of reasons why people do things, and to accuse the reader of not knowing or considering more than the most obvious platitudes about those reasons is an insult to us all.

Just goes to show, any fool can publish something on the internet.

I will need to read it later...

Generally, a thread with simply a link is not worth discussing.... BUT your thoughts are.

So please share you thoughts and conclusions about the article. Let them be discussed.

Mod cut: quoted post deleted.

The article itself is entirely childish. It's impossible to take seriously. All it is is playing on a certain type of man's worst fears and painting women in a light that affirms these fears. How can you honestly take something seriously that states that women have the same opportunities in professional sports? I mean - what?

1) I said I enjoyed reading it so that must mean that I whole heartily agree with the author.
2) I wanted to share the article with others.
