Woman Dismayed With What She Sees on the Street Snaps A Pic And Shares it. Do You See Why? - Today Christian | Stay Informed | Your Popular Christian News Site

Quote:
If the answer doesn’t jump out at you, look closely. On which side of the sidewalk are the man and woman walking?

According to a chapter from Emily Post written in 1922, gentlemen should always take the curbside while escorting a lady down the street. Modern Gentlemen Magazine agrees, that in order to protect a woman from “unpleasantness”, a gentleman should walk on the outside of the pavement regardless if it’s the left or right side.
Thoughts C-D? Diss' perspective. A lot of useless debate over one couple's way of conducting their relationship.

I saw this on Facebook. I don't really think it's a big deal. If you're out with a guy and he does this, it's easy to correct him. If he keeps doing it and you have a problem with it, it's easy to stop seeing him.

I've seen that going around. Its pretty stupid. It kind of seems like a man bashing attempt. The street is dry and doesn't look that busy
"Back in the day" when there was mud or water on every street you always made sure your lady was on the inside but here , no big deal . Here it looks like a construction wall puts them close to the street.

I've got much bigger things to be concerned about

I noticed it right off the bat from just... whatever... tradition.

But, "outrage"?! People were outraged?

Not outraged. But I still walked closest to streetside.

On the Facebook comment section, people were outrage. Hell, the pic caption itself read he is old enough to know better.

I wouldn't call that outrage.

I'm not on Facebook, though, so...

You'd seriously stop seeing a guy over an old tradition that itself has changed several times over the years to fit the times? And there is clearly question over what would now be considered "correct" anyway?

Purely opinion...I would judge a guy on the overall consideration they give me in terms of being thoughtful and not their knowledge of outdated etiquette. What if you were dating someone from another culture?

I didn't say that I would stop seeing someone over it. I'm just saying that any woman outraged by it could do so.
