I haven't used my facebook account in a while, but I recently reactivated my account and came across old inbox messages that I used to send/receive from women (during college and post college for a couple of years). With my last girlfriend and other women that I met in various places, they'd add me on facebook and they seem to gain more interest after seeing my profile which helped my dating life back then.

I don't really care to see people's baby pictures and have zero interest in actually using the site so that why I got rid of it in the first place. I never uploaded photos and made zero status updates. I would only care to start being on it again if it can help with dating (i.e. connecting with only the women that I actually meet in person first) and staying in touch with them in some way as friends or more. I'm 30 years old by the way.

I just joined fb recently after ending a long term relationship.. I find it very useful. With it it's easy to break the ice. Impossibly easy to flirt and be forward.

It can be, but beware of trolls and fake accounts. FB is a good way of meeting people if you are prepared to join a few communities on there.

I'd mainly be reusing the site with only the people/women I met in person first. I don't want anyone I never met on my friend's list.

Are you breaking the ice with them over private messages or some other way?

Private messages, comment on their comment, however. I wouldn't like randomly message strangers, but it's a great way to hit up old flames, or chicks from high school, etc.

All of the above. If they post a pic say something that clearly gets their attention. But it can't be what everyone else is saying. 'You're really pretty.' 'You look really nice.'

You have to inject either some humor or forwardness into your comment. 'Damn, girl. What up?.'... It works even better if neither of you are the type to actually say things like 'What up?'

Maybe your being playful, teasing or seriously think she's hot.. She won't know and will respond to you in order to get more info out of you.

Easy peasy, kinda sleazy.

Fair enough. FB can be annoying though, but I use it for what it is, a way of connecting with ppl and staying in touch. I have made a few new friends on FB, which was helpful to me as I moved back to the UK last year and didn't know anyone except for family.

Very useful. I don't use fb to meet or 'friend strangers, but it's played a pretty huge role in networking my professional, social, and private/romantic life. Potential, 4sho.. I've had zero reason to join dating sites. Thanks, facebook! Lol..

Can you talk about how you find it useful in more detail?

How do you go about dating the women, meeting them in person, etc after friending them?
