The problem is that people are still in mindset that black hair is bad. I use heat protection when my hair is getting straighten.
I don't think I ever did. It would be permed with relaxer, then straightened with a flat iron, usually you can hear it sizzling and smell the hair burning on some occasions. lol
So probably best to stop that. Plus, I kind of prefer it curl now. straight was ok. But curly with a cute hat is nice. It also helps when I want to pull the hair over my eye, since I keep at least 1 hidden when I can.
But, I always got compliments on my hair being long and good. Until I got careless with it. Now it's still good, but it got matted in the back, and a cut had to happen. So, rather than down my back, it's around my neck now.

Even other races should not be straighten their hair everyday. I am have been taking hair vitamin to grow out my hair . I am still getting relax because I am looking for employment.

My mother usually does my hair. She went to school for hair for a while, but dropped out. Her father, my grandfather, also does hair and owns his own shop. So I listen to them when it comes to that. I know nothing about hair, except things I learn through trial and error.
Keeping your hair up may help with growth. I keep my hair in a bun most of the time so it doesn't sweat under the bottom, or tangle up when sleeping. My neck gets hot quick. That's what killed it was the sweating, then matting. So braiding your hair then making it into a nice bun could help. Mine has been growing back. Not as fast I I want, but it's progress.
Just a thought though. Different things work for different people. I just know the bun was easier for me though. With my hair, vitamin e-I believe, is used, along with coconut oil, leave-in conditioner that stays in throughout the day to name a few things lol When my mother gets to work on mine, it's like a lab with all the stuff she looks through to use. But according to her and my grandfather it works and helps.
Idk I definitely have heard of this being an issue for some blk men that frequently date out. A lot of time it seems like the one they settle down with ends up being a woman with a tolerant family. My sons babysitter is basically an Amish white woman married to an African man, and even her ultra conservative parents love him. My older brother went through a phase where he only dated white women in highschool and all of the parents loved him-he was a popular charismatic, class-clown jock, everywhere we went everyone knew his name. Because of that parents didnt care at first. But he always did the girls so dirty that eventually my mom and dad would get a mean call lol. The last 4 black guys I've dated have only ever dated white women. I asked each of them if they ever had issues with the parents and none of them did. My friend Cass is an upper middle class white chick that only dates blk men and her parents dont care either. I'm not sure-I think it still happens but I hear less and less about parents being against it.
I mean your so young that in all honesty I would move on. That's too much drama to deal with-arent you going to college soon lol. I mean you will have plenty of girls that wont be so difficult to date. Teen love always feels special... It rarely is...
Sorry if that comes off as cold but im telling you that dating at your age shouldn't be so messy and complicated. Just let her go. There are other white chicks w/ progressive parents.
I might sound like an idiot, but I dont find any other girl interesting atm. The last three months Ive turned down girls I normally would be jumping all over. Im trying to say that Im serious about this girl. I mean, I do see that our relationship is rocky af, and could end soon, but Im holding unto it as long as I can and so is she.
Btw, this is not about white chicks. Ive dated black girls before and I dont really care about the difference.

We are in the same age range.
When people go to college, most of them broke up with boyfriend or girlfriend at home. My parents and friend's parents did that but later they got back together. This girl is dependent on her parents until she finish college or she is 24. A break up is not end of the world.
Dating is fun loosey goosey kind of stuff but when you get married and have kids, things change. When you get older and have kids you start looking at your bloodlines and how your genes are going to pass thru the eons. Some black folks want to see the dark skin and hair pass on to future generations while some white folks want to see the blonde hair live on into the future. Some people just don't care what their offspring look like.
What's the difference? It's not racism when black women are "especially critical" about interracial relationships?
Just as Weezer said in an earlier post than yours, its more jealousy than anything else. It usually isnt anything close to racism. Jealousy is what it is.
