So I'm in Denver for the summer for an internship, and I downloaded tinder and okcupid in hopes of meeting a lady. Both apps suck. I'd swipe and never (actually rarely and they would never respond) get a match. Then I thought I was being too picky so I just swiped right to every girl. About 1 every 2 or 3 times of swiping till I ran out of likes.
Then I switched it to males only, waited a few days, swiped all my likes and got 45 matches in one set. I think each set must be 100.
Clearly either these apps are broken, aren't effective at what they are supposed to do, or Denvers m/f ratio is WAY off.

Denver is male dominated city and not every girl is going to find you attractive.

Too many female 4's thinking they are 9's and expecting to hook up with 10's is a pretty common heteronormative malady these days. Parents: some advice... stop telling your little darlings they are princesses and pretty. They are not. Also, you have stumbled upon the homonormative of gay hook up culture. As a gay many myself I don't partake, I find it gross and I think i'm one of those 4's who would only want to be with a 10 anyway. Uglies gross me out, thus I don't have sex.
Thats exactly how I feel tune it lower. There must be a difference in preference of using the app, coupled with the more outreaching nature of guys, added with the unbalanced m/f ratio that creates a self feeding loop which pushes all the females away.
There is nooooo way the match ratios should be that different. Like .06% vs 45% in real life or we wouldn't reproduce.
It's not an attractive issue because I can pull ladies reasonably well irl and clearly a lot of gay guys thought I was attractive. It's a gender issue.
