Did any guy ever lay a pickup line on you, that actually got your positive attention?

The "lines" that work best seem to be just acting normal and saying "hi, how are you."

Everything else just comes across as lame.

Also, you can ask me what I am drinking, and engage in a conversation about that, skipping the whole "I'll buy your next round thing" until we have settled into a lengthy conversation. I'll happily engage in a conversation about my favorite cocktails.

And by then, you will have figured out if you like me/I like you without actually spending money on a drink!

One trick that can work in a store, if you meet the right person, is to ask for tips picking out a gift for your sister or niece or aunt or something like that. Opens the door to a longer conversation, and gives you positive points as being family oriented

It's just a little a joke referring to the typo in the thread title. Copy editor humor ...

Did any pickup lines work?

The only ones that worked for me was "How are you?" Sometimes, I will say it in their native language if I picked up on it; Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Tagalog.. so far.

He asked if my ears were ringing? That my friend and the guy were talking about me to date.

"Hi' said with a nice smile. "Hello" also works. "How's it going?" isn't bad.

Oh yes. The ones that asked me "Hey what pickup lines work for ya?"

That worked every time. Try it.
