So women give men permission to have sex only if they spends money on them? Maybe that's why it is said that there is no such thing as free sex for men, right? He will have to spend money one way or the other to be able to go to her house and sleep with her.
Not only if he spends money. Looks and chemistry also matter.
Let's say that I go on a date with a girl.
Is it wrong to let her pay for her own meal if I find out that I'm not interested in ever seeing her again?
In this case, I wouldn't gain anything but a hole in my wallet.
To be clear, I'm talking about the case where she offers to pay for her meal and I don't refuse.
Personally I would never advise anyone to take someone to dinner, if they are meeting for the first time. Then you don't have to worry about it.
The assumption is the person who extends the invitation pays. If you phrased it as "I'm going to eat here, you are welcome to join me.." you might be able to get away with not being a dick.
A gentleman always pays. Dating is not a transaction process. Sure, you can do whatever you want. Whatever makes you sleep better at night. Have some class and be a gentleman.
Being a jack a** helps me sleep much better at night. One time I pandered to someone like 3 months ago and it eats at my soul. If I had cussed out the guy in question and perhaps brandished a gun I would have slept like a baby that night but there was eviction issues at play, I pandered and still got evicted. Now I know better.

Or if gender norms or society placed you into the position of asking by default.
I find it interesting that men are expected to behave like the 1950s, but it would I would be considered a sexist pig for asking the same for a woman. Ya know, things like knowing how to cook and not having a 9 to 5 job.
