I pass on those. They tend to come across as high-maintenance and/or vain.

Interestingly, when I switched from a fun, playful main profile picture to one of the best pictures ever taken of me, my profile views and messages dropped from barely on the grid to completely invisible.

When I paid for A-List on OKC and good search based on attractiveness, I found those who were "average" and "above average" to be the most attractive to me. The "hot" guys all looked like snobby douchebags.

Perfect. Now set up dates and show up. See what the responses are. You could set up a YouTube channel doing this kind of stuff

The data supports this.

However, your "success level" can be highly dependent on what you're looking for. Not that I suspect the men who post these picks are looking for Ms. Right, but while those pics may draw a lot of looks, people that are seriously looking for more will at least take a pass at your profile, and quality on both fronts is, shall we say, "rare".

Curb appeal gets people to open that door. Of course pictures make the profile....it's tough to even get interest when there is no picture, so it's silly to believe that attractiveness doesn't open doors. Once they check out the profile, if it's sparse, it really doesn't matter how good looking they are...but if the profile has substance, then interest is sparked. What you write in the profile will determine what type of response you get.

That's not the point I was making.. It was to the people who claim if you're struggling with old it's because of your profile not looks when it is about your looks first not profile.

And personally, I agree with that and have never claimed otherwise.

Maybe they thought you were too beautiful to be true.

I have to confess, I tended to ignore messages from those I considered way out of my league... figured it was probably a scam. Maybe too much good looks can work against a person too.
