Ok. If you are freaking while texting, you need to take a couple deep breaths. That's the easiest as you can take all the time you need. Ask him questions about his profile, where he likes to waterski, and all that. I found humor eases a lot of awkwardness, as well as the ability to laugh at yourself.

We have a walking date tomorrow evening. It was so easy talking to him. "Feel the fear and do it anyway" I had to tell myself.

make sure you stay in public and no hiking path ...
