If the women are hot I find it a huge turn on to see them kissing but if they aren't its gross to me. And I find two men kissing to be gross and uncomfortable. I actually dislike seeing two gay men displaying pda, it always makes me feel icky, like it's not supposed to be happening. I'm being brutally honest and not PC. I am not homophobic and support same sex marriages but when it comes to want I'm comfortable seeing, I guess I prefer to see straight traditional sex scenes or pda over gay men and in many cases I only like lesbian pda if they are attractive and doing things beyond kissing-like in porn.
One of the reasons I no longer watch how to get away with murder is because I felt like the gay factor in the show was becoming too much. I didn't like to see many scenes with the two guys making out and when viola Davis suddenly was a bisexual this season and they had scenes of her with another woman I was completely turned off. And the way they made HIV seem like not a huge deal sort of bothered me too. Overall I didn't like seeing Gay PDA. It felt like an agenda to me, and way too much emphasis on sex on a prime time television show. Just not my cup of tea.
Pretty much the same reasons why guys fantasize MFF and not MMF.
I don't find it gross either way but I do understand why men feel the way they are. Why? Is it social pressures? mental conditioning? upbringing? media? don't know.
I do know that around my circles, men greet each other with a firm handshake but greet the women with a peck on the cheek.

Oh I think it's hot when that gay couple makes out on HTGAWM. I have the same reaction seeing hot gay guys hook up as most men do when they see two lipstick lesbians
But for the OP's statement, I think that men only like the fantasy. I'd venture that lesbians actually have more difficulty with acceptance than gay males. There's been gay male representation within pop culture for decades now. Other than Ellen, there's not a lot of true gay female representation.
There's also a problem with homonormativity in the LGBTQ community, where as long as you fit in a stereotypical role, you are accepted, but anything outside of that and you have problems even with people within your own community.
^^^It's the male gaze that's still the perspective of a lot of media--the assumption is that the straight man is the default setting and what they want to see is presented as fact.
People are homophobes. No need to explain why anything is "gross" (or not) to you. If 2 people expressing their affection bothers you - guess what - that's YOUR PROBLEM!

Holding hands, a gentle squeeze, a soft kiss, a stolen glance...all fine with me in public.

It's a show about murder, and the gay sex is bothering you. That is what's disturbing?

Not wanting to see people mack down in public doesn't make for a homophobe... people throw that word around too much.... sort of a crying wolf type of thing....
