Do people use Instagram as a means to hook up these days? Seems to be the go to thing for various ages and eliminates the BS of dating websites.
I've been losing some weight and developed muscles and feeling a bit vain (never been lean before), learned a few new things I kind of want to show off (cooking mainly). Is it effective? I've heard women at work are completely into it.

It could work surreptitiously, sort of like a subtle self-marketing campaign. But I wouldn't expect women to throw themselves at you based on that alone.
If you REALLY want to impress women with your cooking, then host group dinners where you invite lots of friends and invite them to bring other friends.
I don't have an Instagram account - I don't feel the need for any more social media type accounts to have to follow. However, I believe you can link your IG account to your OKC profile.
People use IG all the time for hooking up....most people just think it's a place you throw pictures up, but there is also an ability to communicate there as well.
Put those two things together and anyone with the motivation or intention and voila.
