I moved to Southern California a few years ago, home to a very important Asian community. By Asian I mean specifically East Asian. Being a single male I noticed as well from those that I have met through work or other ways that they aren't very much inclined to venturing outside of their cultural bubble, mainly when it comes to dating.
It is true that in the area communities are very much closed to each other and mixes are uncommon. However I am under the impression that this is specially true for Asians. This being said I am perfectly aware that East Asian have very different cultures and that not everyone is the same. Nonetheless I am talking about general trends, not at an individual level.

Have you noticed anything like this too?

Not sure as I've never been to California yet, but here in New York (Manhattan, Queens, etc..), I've seen Asian girls date outside of their race.

Not from what I seen. I know one Asian woman married to a White man. They have several kids together.

I used to be in a FWB arrangement with an Asian man. I'm white.

Quite the opposite from my experience. My cousins (comprised of 5 women and 4 males) living in southern California, 7 of them are married or engaged to Caucasians. We come from a very cultural, hard core Catholic family, too.

Its 2015.

Plenty of Asian women in So.Calif date outside their race. I live here and see it all the time. This includes East Asia...

Don't lose hope if your type he never dated anyone with your racial background. If you are cool, and can keep her curious, you could be her first...nothing like being immortalized by being someone's first taste...one that keeps her open to dating others...trailblazing for the brotherhood will open doors others weren't able to.

Are you white? If so, you'll be fine. Every race loves white men.

Compared to other races? Yeah, and it's not even close.
