Wouldn't you say?
I can definitely see the Jennifer Connelly resemblance. The full body picture of her sitting I thought of Cobie Smulders (Robin) from How I Met Your Mother.

I don't. But we're both a couple of women in our 40s, no? I don't presume to think for the men half my age.

I am sure these tactics go way farther back than the 80s, yet. I'd bet from the 30s onward at least, such efforts have been common in advertising. I mean if you look at old movie posters from the 50s or 60s which aren't drawn/painted (which was also popular) but rather were photographs, and somehow the actors just look waaaaaaaaaaay more flawless than they ever do at any point during the movie, you know there was a lot of touching up going on there.

As well there was a lot of "sleight of hand," LOL...including in personal pictures. Low lighting or specific lighting to highlight certain areas, leaning forward so the top looks "bigger" and the middle to bottom looks progressively smaller (the precursor to today's from-the-top-down camera held high Facebook shot, what is that called again?), getting someone's "good side," and on and on...And of course there have always been clothes designed to pull in or push out/up where appropriate, and makeup.
Airbrushing. That's what I was looking for.

Going to make some generalizations here, but she seems far more interesting than the run of the mill thin, non-tatooed, blonde.
