When I was pregnant, my husband had to travel to Europe for work for about a week. In the time he was away, we got blasted with a ferocious blizzard. I was trapped like a rat in our little apartment. And then I had developed gallstones and appendicitis while pregnant. Let me tell you... there was a LOT of crying over the phone. I would start out the phone call trying to be happy and not let him know I was having a hard time. But then, after the first 5 minutes, I'd be bawling my eyes out, whether I wanted to or not! Pregnancy causes some pretty major "side effects" for some of us ladies.
I'm sure that your husband understands, especially if he's an RN. Just make sure to take care of yourself the best you can. It's okay to cry, really. It's probably a losing battle to try to fight it. Just do your best to be good to yourself.

The one time my wife got emotional during pregnancy was towards the end of our last. It was totally understandable! Hurricane Sandy hit us end of October of 2012 and my babies were born first week of the very next month. Even after the Hurricane winds and rain dissipated, we were still dealing with flooding and lack of power; fireplace for heat, outside grill for cooking and boiling water. We were worried that if the baby decided to arrive too early, we would need call for help as all the roads to the local hospitals were flooded. The day came we managed to get to the hospital. The doctor decided to induce... which didn't do anything... then c-section. There were complications. One of the twins refused to come out and lots of blood loss but all turned out well. The silver lining was the hospital stay was long enough that by the time we returned home, power was restored... so the drama of Sandy was behind us just in time to welcome the twins and mother home.
I cried when I was pregnant with my first child at work in front of my boss. We were talking about something random and the sensation was so strong to cry that I couldn't resist. My boss and several female co-workers came and gave me a sister hug. I can laugh about it now but at the time I was so embarrassed. Sometimes those hormones are just so strong you really can't control your emotions very well.

That is a LOT to deal with. I'm glad everything turned out okay! Nerve wracking. I hope your twins are happy and healthy. What a way to enter the world!
