Am I in the wrong here? My girlfriend of 2 years is so anti Trump it's appalling. How can she not want to make America great again I ask her? She just shakes her head and says he is crazy. I say she is crazy! This is the first time politics have really come up in our relationship and it's been a real shocker. Has anyone else had politics come between their relationship?

Ok, I got a chuckle out of this. Hoping it isn't real, in case it is...

This isn't politics. This about not dating someone that supports an insane sexist xenophobe. I'm with her.

Nope. Even when we've had vastly different opinions. I don't get it when people feel they can't like (or in this case love) someone because they have a political opinion different than theirs. Aside from election years and such like this or people who live close to it in some fashion, who really involves politics in their day-to-day lives?

She should have broken up with you for being the crazy one.

Me. Waves hands. I would have a hard time being in a relationship with someone whose values were very different from mine. That would likely come out in political conversation.

If my husband of over 15 years came out in favor of Trump, I would divorce him. He isn't the man I know or want. So...I imagine she might dump you first.

Normally, I'm like "wow, the guys on City-Data are *******s", but actually... If OP isn't joking, then I'd say sayonara too. Donald Trump is good for comedic value. You should have your laugh, then move on. Not try to make the joker your president. I have a hard time taking Bernie fans seriously, but Trump is a whole new level.
