Well, excuse me for not being happy that I spent 4 years at a college campus with 15,000 female students and never got a lick of attention. I'm trying to gain insight about what the problem is.
Okay, obviously I really didn't understand (were you being sarcastic?) because I thought you were trying to impress on us that you don't approach women and that you're satisfied with that choice. Now I don't know WHAT you want. But honestly, whatever it is...I hope you get it.
Eh, most of my college dating of girls from my school started that way. Then lead to study sessions. Then to movies or whatever. Then to making out. Not necessarily in that order.
Well his didn't lead to anything at all in 4 years so I'd like to know what other efforts he made.
I am starting to see dating is primarily in the man's advantage. Men can decide who to ask out and I have come to see a lot of women don't get asked out at all. Women have to wait seeing as the majority won't ask a man out.
I myself see the advantage myself. Women have a different set of disadvantages that us men can't relate to. But then again, each situation is individual.
Women, if you like a guy and feel the need to approach, then approach. Don't worry about "what if he thinks this or that?'
Men, same goes for you. You like a woman, approach. Don't get all bunched up with this "What if she says no" crap. And don't get me started on y'all that are worried about getting shot down in front of friends or people in public. Life goes on. You're approaching the woman, not everyone in public...I hope not. If she is going to be all nasty about it, then that says more about her than you.
I swear, people (including me) make dating so much more complicated than it needs to be.
^^
Great post!
I realize it depends largely on the person but I know lots of men that are flattered when a woman makes the approach.
Many years ago I took the 1st step and approached a very nice, handsome gentleman, and the end result has been a happy marriage. Next month will be our 15th anniversary and we are still very deeply in love and committed to each other.
I was speaking to my husband about this. He said looking back, he really feels there were a good few women he could have developed something with, based on what he knows now about women's cues and so on, but at the time, he was just clueless.

It seems to be a missed communications thing...
Me, too. There was a girl in college that I had such a crush on, and she was interested in me too, but I was so nervous and uncertain that I never really tried anything with her. I was even afraid to talk with her much.

Why not? I have, and I liked it.
