If so, I'm wondering what they could possibly want? I got this message yesterday:

Hello Dear, Hope you having a splendid day?..Please Forgive me for emailing you out of the blue today... I don't know how to say this but my good friend seems to like your profile and all you wrote about yourself...He is not on the dating site, I was talking him into online dating & while taking him through the process I decided to show him how to search single ladies here on POF so apparently your profile came up in our search criteria and he was really intrigued by your profile. He is named Richard, 62 yrs, he currently in Long beach, California but open for relocation if this works out. And from what he said, you are the only woman that caught his attention and he compliments your pretty photo and remarkable profile plus it will be nice to have a chat with you. Well I'm not trying to paint him good i think you could give this a try.. I'm doing this because I believe in love and we never can tell where and when it would happen; Just that leap of faith is all that is needed. I have meet someone from POF.COM, his a great and loving guy, we are in love lol, I will stop there. My friend is widowed, lost his wife to colon cancer 8 years ago and has not dated since then because of work and doesn't like the bar scene. I apologize if I have offended you with this message but if not, please do email him at
(richardbenjamin036@gmail.com). We can never know if we don't try. I contacted POF about this and uploaded his picture privately as pof will not let any form of third-party communication, So you can view his picture from my profile. you can get there directly from this>> Online Dating Service, Meet Singles, Matchmaking.. Thanks And God Bless, Warm Regards.
What's weird about it is that I got a very similar message last month from a different sender and another part of the US, supposedly. Has anyone else seen this?

scammer. This person either doesn't actually exist, or they are out to waste your time and get your money.

Honey, anything that starts with "Hello Dear", continues on with bad grammar and punctuation, adds in a sob story about colon cancer and ends with a religious reference is a MAJOR SCAM!!

Do. Not. Reply.

I can't give an opinion on that, I've never been on POF.

But this one's a serious scam.

I dunno, I'm thinking that any man too lame to walk thru the process of setting up a profile is probably not the one for me, lol.
