And why would she rant about being corrected if she was joking? Weird joker.
Because it appears she was just being "sweet" from awakening and greeting him, and he was not, having it be off-putting and altered her mood. (All of it is how HE presented things to have transpired, anyway).

Nobody did anything WRONG...both need to give each other a break. Although the GF was texting a nice "good morning" and the snarky comeback totally squashed that. Next time know what stuff to let go - you just learned something, OP. If this keeps up and is always happening just figure that you're not compatible.

Should I say something?
What you said was not the worst thing imaginable but (there is always a but, right?) I understand why she would be put off by it. The mere placement of "lol" after the reply does not have the magical power that many believe it does. Being corrected for something that minor does not play well with many people. Chalk it up to a learning experience.

Bit of advice: Be extra careful the next time the clocks are adjusted in the fall.

I'd let one or two of those sorta snarky comments go, if it were a pattern I'd tell her what she could do with some body part.

She's being a brat. Don't respond to her little text tantrum. You basically made a joke about her getting up at 2pm and she threw a little fit. Ignore and move on.

You know what's annoying? When people make sense and offer balanced looks at things. Please stop

As I suggested prior.. I wondered if she and the OP had been out together the night before or maybe on the phone late. Afterward, maybe she couldn't fall asleep.. got up and got a snack, watched a little TV... where he had fallen asleep after having pleased himself.

It doesn't appear he has returned after having stirred the pot... sure is letting us get ideas of others around here, though.

Sorry guy, but when you're talking to a woman you'll need to understand that what you say can, and will, be taken 100 different ways depending on the time of day, her mood, how her hair turned out, how she thinks she looks at that moment, how she's feeling, etc., etc., etc.

Saw a poster that read: "Men, if you ever want to know what a woman's mind feels like, imagine a browser with 2,857 tabs open. All the time."
