I stopped shaving since December and have a decent full beard.
It's very thick and dark on my chin, thinner on my cheeks and sideburns and somewhere in between on my mustache. All I trim is the outline/hairline of my beard. I've had compliments that it's a nice looking beard, that it suits me. However most of the comments I get are from guys. Perhaps they wish they could have a beard like me but are afraid women wouldn't be as attracted to them.
Sorry but I really don't like them, they just look a bit unhygienic - I'm sure that's not the case (despite StacyK's predictable descent into the gutter) but you can't help your instinctive reaction can you? I also think it ages men under 50 (ish).
Can't stand full beards or full sideburns or goatees. YUK. I can tolerate a moustache if it's short and neatly trimmed, none of those handlbar waxed deals YIKES
But that's just me.
Becuase honey, there are women who will looooooooove your beard and you. If you like the way you look that's all that counts, it is about you and how you like to look and, if it is a cut you enjoy and how it makes you feel, then that is what's important.
For every "look" there is someone who totally goes wild for it, both in bed and out, so you keep what you like and find the sweetie-pies who adore you, they are out there!
I love goatee's on a man - Now if you're talking ZZTOP type of beards, heck No!!!
