Oh please, chicks means nothing, nor does "girls", plenty of mature adult women say "boys" too or "guys" or whatever. And hooking up and dating and caring for individuals are hardly mutually exclusive things. Most people seem to date around, hook up, etc in between relationships. It's the usual path to relationships. It all has their place. The problem occurs when you're stuck in an all or nothing mode. As in you can't have serious relationships, or you can't chill out and be cool with casual.
Of course, it isn't like a one night stand can't include breakfast and a post breakfast "nap" as well. People can be classy and good to each other even in fleeting connections.
I've always been the relationship type. Not really into hooking up.
