Society changes, ebs and flows, anthropology studies show all kinds of differing social trends and customs.

Men generally being the hunters and more aggressive typically have done the chasing historically speaking. Society now seems to beat aggression out of men, very subtly, albeit it somewhat happens, does this translate into men being less aggressive, IDK??? I wonder if this is the subtext of what the OP is getting at???

You see resentment and exhaustion caused by shouldering an unequal share of the burden of family life. You see a woman that is bubbling over and trying to find a way to get it right.

This may make me look unreasonable, but when your married to a passive man, this type of thing tends to fester. Aa a result, Mr Passive has everybody feeling sorry for him being married to someone who is "difficult"

Unless you have personal experience with this type of relationship, you opinion is unwarranted.

Being shy is not exclusive to being passive.

What difference does it make...he got you.

Telling someone he shouldn't get married because he believes a man shouldn't have to chase women; because you are frustrated with your own personal situation reflects poorly on you. That's his opinion and he's welcome to it.

Apparently his beliefs are working well for him.
His beliefs as well as others have posted on here have nothing to do with your personal situation. He's not your husband so his marriage will not automatically be like yours because he didn't "pursue" his wife.
