How Long? (Valentine's Day, child, college, divorced)

Was 40 years Feb. 10th. We met July 10th,'67, engaged Sept. 10th '67, married Feb. 10th '68. Two wonderful kids, 3 grands later still happy.

Met oct 1983, married dec 1983, still crusing along 24 years later I always wonder why people state the time "before" marriage? If so then it would be together 24 years, married 24 years, (yes we waited for the wedding night)
