Some will be friends and will genuinely want to build a platonic relationship. I have with a few...

if it 'feels' like too much work maintaining that platonic relationship, then it is probably best to just to cut it off.

I've kept the friendships that proved geniune.

Friends with benefits? Nope. That is neither a friendship nor a benefit to long term regard.

The lines will blur greatly as maturity sets in, friendships will not carry the gender influence so much as the mutual values and trusts.

Depends on how you broke up

Personally I've not had a bad break up as such so I'm mature and adult enough to keep things polite and civil should we bump into each other and it has ended up in one night stand more often or not

I've got women friends that I've slept with ( when we first met but soon realised we wasn't compatible ) and get on great ...... So I can't see the problem

I would think it would depend...some people are able to do this in general, others are not; and some breakups lend themselves more to a future friendship whereas others are more messy and probably won't ever result in a friendship.

FWB never work out. It's always awkward in the end. Sex ends friendships. This is different from having a relationship with someone. This is why you two will never be friends.

Never had a problem with it in the past....

The sex stopped after I got married and they still remained my friends. It think it depends on the friendship and the people. I will agree, FWB relationships can be a fine line to walk. Not all of my friends would be ok with it.

They work out lots of times. Quite well. And I can't recall sex ever ending a friendship. I've definitely had it make them stronger due to stronger emotional ties that last well past when the sex ended.
