Y'all, a lot of women are MANY things now. My husband's last two XOs have been women.
Yes this is absolutely true. There were also a lot serving in our unit, I'd say no less than 10 total in our company downrange and our platoon sergeant was one as well. hoooaaah
'Higher income' only within the context of Base-Pay. Certainly not within the context of take-home pay which is commonly 3X base-pay.
I said "officers as a group." An officer serving at the same station as an enlisted person with the same time in service will be making more money than an enlisted person.
It is the standard female obsession with meathead, republican, macho, neanderthals that listen to Nickelback and bro country. I am very bitter about this.

I never saw re-enlistment bonuses among the officers that ever matched the enlisted bonuses.
But on the surface. No, take-home pay for a 10 year officer compared to a 10 year enlisted, you need to check your resources.
I was looking at the tax forms each year as I prepared them.

Well, at the 10-year point I was an Air Force E-6 at SAC Hq, and I guarantee you the 10-year AF O-3 sitting next to me was making more money than I was. Within another year, I was an E-7 and he was an O-4, and he was still making more money than I was. Ten years after that, I was an E-8 and he was an O-6, and he was still making more money. Today, we are both retired...and he's still making a lot more money.
Not all enlisted get re-enlistment bonuses, not all re-up bonuses are particularly lucrative, and most are gone by the time a member reaches E-7. I expect things might have been different for submarine service, but that's a small part of the DoD.

Lol. Good thing a married a military member who is none of those things. It's almost like it's an inaccurate stereotype or something!
