Back in early '80s when credit card was not yet common, I gave a subsidiary Gold Visa Card (which was a rarity by that time) to my girl friend on her birthday. She asked me how much she could spend with the card. I told her there was no limit (of course there was a spending limit but I didn't mention) and she could buy whatever she wanted.

Romantic value was one I was seeing years ago, her birthday was on the 12th of February so as we went out for Valentine's Day on the 14th I gave her 22 red roses in a made up bouquet ( she turned 22 ) ,planed the entire day for us plus other gifts.
I'm usually not the best at buying gifts... Thought/idea wise and often buy expensive ones that I'd KNOW she would like... LV bag, jewellery etc etc....... But the above was the most I've seen a lady blush and happy.
So how much did she spend?
A CC is not quite a valuable gift... unless it is used!
Actually she didn't spend much. Not even one item she bought with the card was extravagant.
But after I gave her the Gold card, we got more intimate. I guess:
(1) It means I had complete trust in her;
(2) She was really flattered by using the Gold Card to pay the bill when she dined with her friends and parents whom didn't have any credit card or just had regular credit card.
(3) As I just wrote, great gift was rewarded by great sex.
