How do you know it's laziness? Are you assuming these spouses don't clean the house, take care of appointments and so on? What visual are you getting here of this hypothetical SAHW? What is her life like, when you imagine her?

How long does that take a day? If it is just two people you should not have to clean everyday and you probably live in an apartment or small house not much to clean. People usually only go to the doctor and dentist once in a while there is not going to be an appointment everyday. You go grocery shopping what once or twice a week. These are all things that could be done on a day off or before or after work you know how working people do it.

My wife always wanted to be a "stay at home pet owner", but now that we have a little one I think she enjoys the break from baby rearing during the week.

I don't know how long it takes. I don't know this hypothetical couple. I don't know anything about their lives.

Do you?

If not, how can you judge?

Some couples feel that earning money isn't the only way to contribute.

Same. I'm not financially supporting someone who has the ability to work.

Agree, money isn't the only contribution someone can make.

I am just stating what I know about these things I have cleaned a house, I have gone grocery stores, none of those things take long or have to be done everyday.
