I have no idea. I never had a boyfriend in high school. I went on a date once in a while, but it never went anywhere. I wasn't terribly interested in any of them. It's not the end of the world.

Again im new to this, so my social skills are kind of mediocre.
But I can try to strive a convo with a girl.
But if I strike a convo, when will it be the best time to ask her to be my girlfriend?
And you want a girlfriend so bad.....why?

Is it because of what you THINK you see?

You don't ask a stranger to be your girlfriend right off the bat.

(Or is this how teenagers work now? As an old, I'm not up on the latest teen dating trends.)

No it's not how most teenagers work these days. If he tries to do that he will be figuring out very quickly that that really doesn't work at all.

I never had a boyfriend or any dates in high school. I had crushes on a few boys who I didn't really talk to and the few boys who I did talk to were gay (but I didn't realize that at the time).

The only good thing with that is he'll learn one way of how NOT to do it.... From an early age

Plus the more he realises and finds ways of how NOT to do it then he will most probably find a way of doing it the right way much quicker

Like most things in life that are of value, there is no quick way. Things of value almost always take time.

Generally, probably not. Of course, I could be wrong. It would be easy for you to find out, though. Just try that approach for the next couple of weeks and then get back to us and let us know how many dates you have had and if you have gotten a girlfriend or not

BTW, why aren't you talking to your parents about this stuff and getting advice from them?
