I am speaking specifically of the Online dating scene where you've not met in person yet.
Met a lady on Tinder recently. She was eager to meet me based on the many messages she sent me. We live about 35 to 40 miles part (in a large metro area).
I suggested we meet for coffee or a drink in a city closer to where she lives. A distance of 25 miles for me and about 12-15 miles for her.
She replied, "Oh I won't drive that far. I want a man who will go the extra mile for me."
WTF?!? You have to be kidding me. I told her politely my suggestion was very fair. We parted ways right there.
So much for women's lib and all that good stuff my mom and sisters talk about (and I support). I get a woman wants to be courted and chased. Well, let me meet you in person FIRST to see if there is even the slightest bit of actual chemistry.
What do you guys and gals of C.D. think is reasonable for the FIRST meeting ? Meet half way? Meet in lady's hood? Please I.D. yourself as male or female.
Male: I think you were more than fair. She won't drive that far??? You're going the extra mile(s) and putting more wear and tear on your car. If she won't drive 1/3 of the distance while you're going 2/3 of it, obviously she wouldn't even drive to your place had the two of you had chemistry and actually started seeing each other!

I'm female and the guy always comes to me. If he can't or won't, we don't meet.
In today's day and age a little meetin in the middle at times is fine. She had much less to go than you so I think you would have "went the extra" mile.

I don't blame you for cutting her loose.

BING! *In my best Ned Ryerson impression*
Seriously, 12-15 miles is too far? How far did she expect you to drive? What was the closest she would have met you?
Not that it matters, I'd be curious just for laughs.
That's silly. Don't go. She sounds like she's just not right for you. You said "WTF?" If you're saying that and you haven't even been on your first date yet, you know it's not going to end well.
Nah you were fair. I bet she doesn't have a car or something
If that were the issue I'd be fine to show up to her area. She never indicated she didn't have a car.
