So I'm a 19 year old freshman in college, just turned 19 not a while ago and a few weeks over the summer for a while, I got really close with this girl and developed feelings for her and I think she feels the same. However, she's a 17 year old HS senior and due to that, I'm not sure if I should try and pursue a relationship. College isn't too far from her, but still. I really do like her, but I'm unsure of what to do now. It's not like a 20 year old dating a 17 year old, right as I don't like the idea of a much older guy pursuing a HS girl.
I TRULY hope this strong first post isn't a warmup to an eventual "but then isn't statutory rape ridiculous? What about a 52-year-old and a 17-year-old?: (I know...I'm cynical...LOL...been on CD-R too long!)

It's actually recommended and common for guys to date girls who are a few years younger.

"Recommended"? (snort)
"Four out of five doctors recommend a younger girl."
"I've tried other women! Younger women are the ones that work for me."
"I suggest low-risk...perhaps a few utilities, and wait for slow growth, you have time. And by the way...find a younger woman."
Just trying to envision how the recommendations happen.

At least in terms of high schoolers, the "common wisdom" was that girls are more mature than boys of the same age so dating up a year or two is typical. Of course it can become an issue if one is "of age" and the other is not though most laws also stipulate as long as the gap is less than a certain number of years it doesn't matter if one is underage. But check your state laws to be sure!
