I thought of something... what if you tell a woman she looks good for her age and she's not the age you assumed? Unless you are asking her age you have no way of knowing if a woman is 25 or 40 when you tell her she looks 35. Better to just say, "you look good" and leave it at that.
Yep. Definitely awkward when people ask age-related questions, and don't know your age.
I got an old acquaintance of my mother who hadn't seen my in years ask what grade I was in -in HS. And which I had to tell her that I graduated from HS years ago.

Best to keep comments regarding age to yourself. Some people don't like you guessing younger than their age, and some don't like you assuming older either.
I wish men would stop thinking they age better than women because they don't!! Men just don't give a crap.
