I agree and sure bet others do to. This micro-analyzing and parsing words and asking the same question 15 times in a row is boring as hell to read through. I've checked out on this thread because of that poster.
When I was younger I would have said no... but I have learned from my mistakes. If I was ever to date again I would not date anyone who my not from a similar culture and social status ..... life just gets way too complicated. Learning about other cultures is great and can be enriching ... but in a marriage it can be a chronic pain and the source of huge problems. Never again. NEVER.
Ha, my friends say I have dated the UN so maybe I can answer.
It is really about two things. He is from a culture or he is from a culture and he still follows those ways. If somebody comes here to the USA because he likes this culture better it is very easy. He wants to be American, I want to be American, we are American, hooray! If he comes here just for work and has cultural ways that I do not like, then no I will not go out with him.
It can be messy when his whole family comes here too and they are old ways but he is not. If they want him to be with someone of their culture it can be a problem. Then it is more a question of if he will tell them it is his life and he will see who he wants or if he is going to do what his family tells him. This is a good test for me too because I would not date a man who does what his family tells him anyway and it doesn't matter what his culture is. I like a man who thinks for himself.
