I read it the opposite; it's possibly too conservative? He complained that the faculty sometimes curbs free speech? IDK. Sounded like a mixed bag.

He was using safe spaces as an indicator, so he was definitely saying it was too liberal.

Trust me, there's things afoot under the surface there that I got to hear about.

So, OP, what's your plan? What are the "several options" you mentioned?

Pursuing this girl I've been mentioning.

Moving to Texas.

Moving to Mississippi.

My room is all packed up, I've actually moved across town twice this year.

Ole Miss for example, I learned has an extremely high turnover of faculty, and at times they dabble into curbing free speech on campus. Now one might say that's BS, but if there is a poster child for this whole "Safe Space" thing right now, the University of Mississippi is where it's at. In fact, that's where I first heard about safe spaces.

Being a self-identified Conservative (a social conservative, yes, but not a strong one, more of a Jeffersonian one) I couldn't help but think that rubbed my sensibilities more than a little bit.
OMG, just get an online degree if you can't handle the drama of a bricks and mortar graduate program. Guaranteed most of your fellow classmates will be living full lives, working jobs, perhaps married with kids. I doubt they have much time for your "sensibilities."

It is sort of ironic though that after all those years of not being able to get away from your parents, they are the ones getting away!

OMG! Me too! Don't they still fly the Stars and Bars and sing "Dixie" at halftime?

Seems like the place that needs a "safe zone" the most!

So, no concrete plan? You can't pursue the girl in AZ and move to TX at the same time. What's in TX, btw? Work? School? Any employment leads? Employment skllls?
