I am nowhere near close to getting married (at least 3 years away), yet I can't stop looking at the wedding ideas and engagement ring ideas on the website Pinterest.
I obviously haven't told S/O about this because he'd be like 'why are you looking at that stuff right now'
But I just love looking at all of the pictures.
Is this normal that I like looking at wedding ideas even though I'm nowhere near close to getting married?
I wish I could BLOCK the wedding stuff on my Pinterest feed.
My theory: it's just the same kind of wishing and dreaming many of us did as little girls. Once you get married, you will spend time on real estate sites picking out your "dream home." Then you'll be planning your perfect baby names.
Looking at wedding stuff is not a problem. Planning and having some idea of what you like is smart. The "I can't stop looking ..." is the problem.
When it feels like too much, stop. Push away from the internet.
Just about every girl has an imaginary wedding board on Pinterest,don't worry about it it's a creative sort of thing to do involving a lot of design and imaginative thinking.
I think it's a very feminine thing to do and most women like marriage,weddings and historically have always cared more.
I had a hidden wedding board in Pinterest but I have not looked at it in a year.
There is nothing wrong with browsing for ideas online.
What I think people are trying to tell you is to not get caught up in the fantasy of a wedding, because what comes after is what is important, and it is real life, not rainbows and unicorns.

I don't think it's unusual. I have my imaginary wedding planned out and I'm not even dating anyone. lol I've recently decided that I want to elope.

youre not engaged so yes its weird. How do you know in 3yrs he will propose? Anything can happen.
