What's that mean exactly? I've worked at a desk and in an office most of my life...I've heard varying opinions in that it can be an insult, a slight letdown or code for "if you ask me out it's a no", a compliment because that means they're good for certain things, or absolutely nothing at all.
I don't even think they're that soft really. I lifted a lot of free weights throughout my life and have small rough, flat blisters that you can't see but can feel, that will never go away near where my fingers start from from gripping barbells and dumbbells.
I was killing it with this new bartender/waitress that just moved into town from out west at a place I like... tons of similar interests, life philosophies, Meetups, outdoorsy things, the environment, music, etc. and she spent of time talking to me sitting at my high table. I usually never think twice in this situation since we're talking about a service worker but this was a whole other level and the chemistry was off the charts.
She shook my hand twice and the second time before I left was when she made the soft hands comment.
"Soft hands" means you have an office job. You don't work with your hands. It's usually a hint that you are at least somewhat socioeconomically successful since you're not doing low wage manual work where your hands would be calloused. A waitress/bartender typically doesn't have soft hands. Nobody working at the restaurant has soft hands. The customers buying the expensive drinks and meals are the ones with soft hands.
It's likely this woman views soft hands as a good thing but you never know without asking.
No. No soft hands. {{shudder}}
I don't know what she was thinking, but I like rough, man hands. Some hands that look and feel like they can fix something. Rough, calloused hands...a scar from that one time, maybe something wrong with a nail....any dirt on there?
Not the way they look necessarily, but the way they feel...
But then again, I'm not a waitress, and like a previous poster indicated, its not my intention to figure out your worth or occupation.
But those hands tho!
Need way more information about what happened between you before the soft hands comment.
